Confeugo 2013 - Christmas Homage Ceremony
As every year the Confeugo , the traditional homage of the People’s Abbot to the Doge, with the exchange of Christmas greetings, will be held on the Saturday closest to Christmas - on 2013, will be celebrated on Saturday December 21th .
The Medieval Pageant will leave from the Porto Antico Area at 4 pm, and will reach Piazza the Ferrari, where a laurel stump will be offered to the Doge (represented by the Mayor) and then burnt – tradition holds that the unburnt logs are magic.
After the ceremony, at about 8pm., a rich fireworks in music show will light up the night in Piazza De Ferrari.
