     Teatro Carlo Felice is the city's opera house and offers a top-level opera and symphonic season every year, with classical ballet, opera but also international productions.     The Teatro di Genova, the new reality born from the union between the Teatro Stabile di Genova and the Teatro dell'Archivolto was named National Theater by the Advisory Commission of the MIC, Ministry of Culture.     The cultural association Lunaria Teatro has its headquarters in Piazza San Matteo, which brings classical poetry to the stage, from Euripides to Shakespeare, but also museum enhancement events, festivals, and since 2009 organizes also the season of Lunaria in Levante in collaboration with the Teatro Emiliani in Nervi.

    The Teatro Garage is located in the San Fruttuoso district, which mainly deals with contemporary drama, comedy and the so-called "theatre of the absurd". Going up towards the Molassana area, in via Salvador Allende, there is the Teatro dell'Ortica, unique of its kind in Liguria as a social theater that works for the reintegration into communities of people in of hardship and marginalization.
