Founded in 1906 by Dr. Torta in the ancient via Giulia, now via XX Settembre, it was later transferred to its current headquarters under the bright arcades of via Petrarca. During the move, fortunately, all the original furniture from the turn of the century was recovered and reassembled. In 1944 it was bought by Dr. Giulio Cesare Alvigini and still belongs to the family today.

After passing the beautiful early 20th-century showcase, you enter a room furnished in a pure and elegant Art Nouveau style in cherry root. The furnishings on the ground floor, the counters, shelves and sideboards in glass and carved wood and inlaid with "whiplash" floral motifs create a whole with the mezzanine, supported by the furniture below and closed off by a beautiful railing , and with those of the upper floor up to the ceiling.

White tiles decorated in Art Nouveau style with cyclamen embellish the harmonious niches and the same floral decorative motif returns to the many apothecary jars and the historic leech container which, together with mortars, scales and other laboratory equipment, constitutes a collection of great value both in quality and quantity.

The set of furnishings and decorations creates a remarkable glance and an exciting atmosphere of other times.
