Galata Maritime Museum
The Museum, a brilliant combination of tradition and technological innovation, is organised over 4 floors, with a total of twenty-eight large rooms, including one devoted to Christopher Columbus with his famous portrait attributed to Ghirlandaio and his Book of Privileges, simulated port and shipyard settings, media stations, and spectacular sound and lighting effects; completing all this is a rich array of nautical instruments, atlases, nautical charts, weapons, and paintings.
Visitors can discover how men lived on board a galley in the 1600s, experience Italian emigration in the 20th century through an interactive route and enjoy a uniquely engaging adventure inside the S518 Nazario Sauro submarine.
The itinerary ends with MIRAGenova, a major, innovative project that allows visitors to fully enjoy enchanting views of the port and the historic area of Genoa around it.
