Located on the summit of Mount Spino, at circa 600 meters above sea level, this fort boasts superb views and thus considerable strategic importance.

Begun in 1815, it was completed in 1832 and features on the route of several itineraries that stretch from the centre of the Parco delle Mura to the age-old farming villages of Begato and Geminiano.
