Palazzo Tobia Pallavicino (Camera di Commercio)
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE PALACE
Palace of Tobia Pallavicino
The Palace
The building that now houses the Chamber of Commerce was built in the mid-sixteenth century by the very rich Marquis Tobia Pallavicino and is the work of the architect Giovanni Battista Castello known as "il Bergamasco", who was up-to-date with the most recent architectural and decorative trends coming from Rome.
Why you should visit Palazzo Tobia Pallavicino
In 1704 the Palace was purchased by the Carrega family: at that time the Golden Gallery was created with the aim of arousing wonder: the decoration completely covers the walls, vault, furnishings and decorations, including mirrors, gilded stuccoes, carved wood and frescoes.
After other changes of ownership, in 1922 the purchase by the Chamber of Commerce prevented the building from being divided up and allowed numerous restoration works up to date
Information
The building is open to the public from Monday to Friday during office hours; and on Saturday afternoons only as part of tours led by tour guides.
