Porta dei Vacca
Porta dei Vacca was named after the Vachero family who owned many buildings in the area.
It closes to the West the walls of Barbarossa of the 11th century and, having two semicircular towers connected by a pointed arch, it is similar to Porta Soprana situated on the opposite side of the historical centre.
The mountain-side tower was incorporated into Palazzo Serra in the 18th century, while the sea-side tower has returned to visibility thanks to restoration work in 1960. Remarkable is the internal front, with double columns with phytomorphic and zoomorphic capitals.
