FERRIS WHEEL AT PORTO ANTICO
From the 12th of November the new Ferris Wheel awaits you at Porto Antico, at the end of "Magazzini del Cotone". With 45 m of height the Ferris Wheel offers the opportunity to enojy a unique view of Genoa. It will be open 'till the 28th of February.
Opening times: working days: 2.30 p.m. - 7 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. - 12 p.m.; bank holidays: from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets: adult € 8, up to 12 years old € 5, up to 2 years old FREE;
LOCAL EVENTS
From the first days of December and for the entire Christmas period, many events are planned in the city centre and in the streets. Local markets, Christmas trees, musical events, dancing, shows, animation for children, food and wine, exhibitions and many other events!
SAINT PETERSBURG BALLET AT TEATRO DELLA CORTE
On the 5th of December Saint Petersburg Ballet comes to Genoa: the Swan lake will take place at Teatro della Corte, at 9 p.m.
CHRISTMAS TREE IN PIAZZA DE FERRARI
On the 7th of December the lighting ceremony of the Christmas Tree in Piazza De Ferrari takes place. This traditional date, that is located in the very heart of the city, starts the Christmas period.

NATIVITY SCENES
Genoa is deeply connected with its most ancient traditions, like nativity scenes. 'Till the end of February, our event Time of Nativity Scenes offers a large proposal of different nativity scenes, from the historical ones to the living ones, that often come with guided tours, concerts of classical or church music, street markets and many other events.
"CONFEUGO"
Confeugo is a traditional ceremony that takes place every year near Christmas during which the Peole's Abbott pays homage to the Doge and they exchange Christmas greetings: this year it's planned for the 16th of December. During the ceremony a great laurel log is offered and later set on fire, while on the background charming choreographies take place.
CHRISTMAS TORCHLIGHT PROCESSION
On the 16th of December Genoa lights up with its traditional Christmas Torchlight Procession, through the city centre and to the final destination of Porto Antico! Gathering at Piazza De Ferrari at 7 p.m.; start at 8 p.m.; music and party at the arrival .
BABBO RUNNING
On the 17th of December Babbo Running takes place at Porto Antico: a funny race 5km long through the city centre, dressed up like Santa Claus (in Italian Babbo Natale), for all ages. The event is dedicated to charity and supports an italian charity organization. The race starts at 3 p.m. in Piazzale Mandraccio. CIRCUMNAVIGANDO FESTIVAL
On the 26th of December the magic of Christmas arrives in Genoa with the artists of Circumnavigando Festival, an International Festival dedicated to theatre and circus, organized by Associazione Culturale Sarabanda. It will last until the 7th of January, with 36 shows on 13 days and a fabolous New Year's Eve Party!
