101 CELLISTS FOR GENOA
From 10 pm in Piazza Matteotti a very unique open-air concert offered to the city. 101 cellists coming from all over Italy and Europe will perform a repertoire of classical and rock music, from Bach and Vivaldi all the way to Tom Waits and Nirvana. The artistic director is Cristiano Palozzi, who also directed the Genova Film Festival. The musical director is the conductor Giovanni Ricciardi, internationally renowned soloist and composer. Among the musicians: Michael Flaksman; Sandro Laffranchini; Massimo Tannoia; Sergio Patria; Riccardo Agosti and Federico Romano.
NEW YEAR'S EVE IN PALAZZO DUCALE
In Palazzo Ducale the exhibition From the Impressionists to Picasso will be open until 2 am. Moreover, a special videomapping on the palace facade will show visitors a preview of the exhibition masterpieces.
NEW YEAR'S EVE IN PORTO ANTICO
In Porto Antico, visitors can celebrate New Year’s Eve with the shows of Circumnavigando Festival: L’Effet Escargot by the Kadavrensky Company (10 pm) and Il Circo delle Bolle in Su, by the Ribolle Company (11.15 pm).
In Calata Falcone e Borsellino Il Capodanno del Secolo 2016, an event organized by Radio Number One and Il Secolo XIX. Music and entertainment, 70’s-80’s revival for families and dance music for youngest people. From 10.30 pm live show La vie en Rock with Davide Locatelli (starring in the tv show Tú sí que vales). After midnight’s toast, an amazing DJ set by the sea.
Visitors can also spend the last night of 2015 on the ice-skating rink, at the cinema or having dinner in one of the many restaurants in the area.
NEW YEAR'S EVE IN THE AQUARIUM
For the first time the Aquarium of Genoa will offer the opportunity to spend New Year’s Eve enjoying the magic atmosphere of seabeds, with an exclusive visit to the Aquarium and an enchanting dinner in the Cetacean Pavilion, followed by a special after-dinner and a midnight toast. Music and entertainment in the city will also be offered by the CIV’s (Centri Integrati di Via) and the Municipalities.
Capodanno Elettroswing at Porta Soprana and Colombo’s House: DJ set with electronic, swing, hip-hop, turntablism, house and pop music from 11 pm.
Musical Happy Hour in Piazza delle Erbe/Vico Biscotti: cover band and DJ set with 60’s-70’s-80’s revival music from 6 pm.
Capodanno al Carmine in Piazza del Carmine: DJ set and 60's-70's-80's music from 7 pm.
Dinner at 8 pm in the Civico Palazzo del Municipio (via Sampierdarena, 34) and live concert with TuaMadre at 11 pm (largo Pietro Gozzano) in the Sampierdarena district.
